Privacy Policy

Last updated June 1, 2026

Flor is a personal finance app intended for users in the United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to show you an accurate picture of your finances:

Account information

Your name, email, and authentication details when you create an account. If you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details. We never store full card numbers.

Financial data

When you connect an institution through Plaid, we receive account balances, transactions, holdings, and liabilities. You can also add assets manually by entering their values and labels yourself.

Usage data

Basic, privacy-respecting analytics about how the app is used so we can improve it. It is never sold and never tied to advertising.

2. How we use it

  • To calculate and display your net worth, trends, and goals.
  • To sync and refresh balances from your connected accounts.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To provide support and respond to your requests.
  • To keep the service secure and detect abuse.

We do not use your financial data to serve ads, build advertising profiles, or sell to third parties.

3. Bank connections & Plaid

Flor uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your financial institutions. When you link an account, you authenticate directly with your institution through Plaid, and Plaid provides Flor with read-only access to the resulting account data. Your banking credentials are never accessible to, or stored by, Flor. Information you provide through Plaid is also subject to the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, and your use of Plaid is governed by Plaid's terms.

4. Cookies & tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. They keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the app is used so we can improve it. Our analytics are privacy-respecting. We do not use advertising trackers, and we never sell tracking data. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

5. Sharing & disclosure

We share data only with the service providers that make Flor work, such as our bank-connection partner (Plaid), our payment processor, and the providers that host and secure the app. Each is bound by contract to protect your information and use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Flor and our users. If Flor is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We never sell your personal information.

6. How we protect it

We protect your information with industry-standard security. Your data is encrypted, both in transit and when stored. We limit who can access your data to only those who need it. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects your data.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal and financial data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention reasons.

8. Your rights & choices

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Deletion. Delete your account and associated data permanently from settings.
  • Disconnect.Unlink any connected institution at any time, which revokes Flor's access to it.
  • Correction. Update your account details in settings, or contact us to correct other information we hold.
  • State privacy rights. Depending on your US state of residence, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your information, and to lodge a complaint with your state regulator.

9. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion of it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframes the law requires.

10. Children's privacy

Flor is intended for adults and not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Flor grows and as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. This is a pre-launch policy and may be revised before general availability.
